Most visitors to the south land at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Katunayake, north of Colombo. From there it is around three and a half to four hours by road to Hambantota, most of it on the Southern Expressway.

The Route
The drive leaves the airport on the Colombo–Katunayake Expressway, skirts Colombo, and joins the Southern Expressway, which runs past Galle and Matara all the way to Hambantota. It is the fastest and most comfortable way south, and the expressway tolls are included in the price we quote.
Traffic around Colombo is the one variable: an early-morning or late-evening arrival is usually quicker than one in the middle of a weekday.
Flying Home from Colombo
We drive the route in reverse too. We work the pick-up time back from your departure, with margin for traffic and check-in — for an early-morning flight that usually means leaving the south during the night, which is normal for us.
